On Saturday May 14th, the Arlington Arts Center held their annual Art Bash which was a fundraiser featuring several notable DC area personalities. This year’s theme was coined Critique the Critics and was highlighted by local stars Maureen Bunyan from ABC7/WJLA-TV, Peter Abrahams who is the DC Magazine publisher, Sonya Gavankar McKay from The Newseum, Delegate Patrick Hope, Svetlana Legetic from Brightest Young Things and Justin Young from Ready Set DC.

Throughout the event, the personalities listed above competed in head-to-head competitions which utilized childhood art supplies including play-doh, etch-a-sketch, Legos, finger paint, and several additional materials. When the competitions were concluded, the crowd voted Justin Young as the overall winner, and the senior editor of the DCist Ian Buckwalter as the runner-up.

The competitions proved to be competitive, but they created a fun and lively atmosphere for guests to enjoy the event which additionally displayed amazing contemporary art, a silent auction, as well as delicious food, beverage and live DJ.
